Launch of the Telegram Open Network (TON) is possible in Q3 of this year

Telegram Company informed in a letter to investors that it plans to launch its project Telegram Open Network (TON) in the 3rd quarter of this year.

Representatives of Telegram said in their letter to investors that the network is being tested successfully: the test blockchain works fine, and the consensus algorithm is consistent with the goals stated in the Whitepaper of the project.

"The testing period "reaffirms our belief that the TON virtual machine and the TON ... Byzantine consensus algorithm are capable of meeting the goals stated in the original white paper," 

the project leaders emphasized.

 Note that the TON platform will allow you to run decentralized applications and will become a kind of analog of Ethereum. The Telegram initial coin offering (ICO) has become one of the largest in history - the company collected $ 1.7 billion.

Earlier it was reported that Telegram began closed testing network TON. Access to the blockchain has received a limited number of companies, including Russian ones. Telegram expected to launch its blockchain project in March, but it seems that the testing and development of the network took longer than planned.
