Digital politics, blockchain and cryptocurrencies: second Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference Belarus in Minsk

October 10 in Minsk will be Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference Belarus - an event dedicated to the blockchain and crypto-currencies. It will unite on one-site authoritative industry experts, blockchain enthusiasts, start-ups and entrepreneurs. The event is held for the second time. Over 400 people attended the first conference, and the speakers were experts from five countries. 

 Digital Policy in Belarus

Thanks to the Decree "On the development of the digital economy", since March 28, the state of the world has legalized the turnover of the cryptocurrency based on the High-Tech Park. Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov said that if this experience is successful, then the practice could be applied throughout the country.

Under the new legislation, mining in Belarus is not considered entrepreneurial activity and is not taxed until January 1, 2023. In addition, the country is characterized by the availability of electricity, which makes it one of the most attractive for production of cryptocurrency.

The state pays much attention to the development of the IT sector: the government approved the Strategy for Digital Banking Development for 2016-2020. In addition, the members of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus at the final meeting stated that information technologies in 2018 should become the main driver of economic development. The task of the government today is to create the most favorable conditions for the work of IT companies in the state.
